Everyman continues its success by being shortlisted for a Grierson award and will also screen at the BAFTA qualifying Bolton International Film Festival.

The 2021 Grierson awards shortlist, in association with All3Media and Digital Broadcast Partners little dot studios, is officially in!


In association with the Rumi Foundation - Everyman is shortlisted for Best Documentary Short


Thanks to a truly amazing cast and crew who made this film during lockdown and with Covid running wild across the country. Their ability to flex when things changed helped Jack create this truly unique and necessary documentary.

Bolton International Film Festival


We are beyond excited for Everyman to screen at Bolton International Film Festival which is a hybrid event this year:

  • Physical: Wed 29th Sept - Sun 3rd Oct

  • Online: Wed 6th Oct - Sun 17th Oct

Physical screening

You can see Everyman in a physical screening on Friday 1st October at 12:30 at the Bolton Museum and Library.


Online screening

You can view Everyman online from 4pm on Wednesday 13 October. You will have 48 hours to watch from then.

We are happy and proud to announce that Jack Goessen's personal film Everyman will have its International premiere at the 45th edition of Frameline - the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival!


The festival

The festival runs from June 10-27th and Everyman will be screening in the Up Close & Personal shorts program on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 9:00 PM PDT.


Jack will be introducing the film from (probably) rainy Scotland to sunny San Francisco!


The film

Everyman is a 10 minute, personal, visual essay about gender transition – focusing on the social context and implications and exploring how the world is different living as female compared to being perceived as male.

Jack tells his story by using and reframing gender focused tropes and imagery from popular culture, mythology, history and art.

A queer cast display different aspects of Jack's life and identity, mirroring his experience from his unique point of view.

The film
