Prosopagnosia (2021)

Synopsis:

Won a Marvels of Media Award, Best Mini Doc jury prize at Sebastopol Documentary Festival and best experimental film at SMHAF

Prosopagnosia uses expressive animation to investigate intimacy, communication and memory.

Prosopagnosia means face-blindness and to understand this neurodiverse behaviour, the contents of a memory box are intricately explored.

Sketchbooks, photographs and diaries unravel to tell a unique and personal story.

Prosopagnosia premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2021 edition with an International Premiere in competition at IDFA. In 2022, Prosopagnosia screened in competition at Clermont Ferrand and won a Marvels of Media Award for best Experimental Film and the Jury prize for Best Mini Doc at Sebastopol Documentary Festival. This win gives the film automatic eligibility for the Academy Awards 2023 without the need for theatrical release.
